Spring 2000. I’m on a bus in New York City and someone had left a section of the New York Times on the seat near me. I picked it up and found this article about DTS (I’d never heard of them): A Little Disturbing, A Little Unnerving: Postmodern Lounge by Terry Teachout, April 30, 2000 EXCERPT: To call Dave's True Story a lounge act is not exactly right, though it is hard to cram into any other pigeonhole. On my next visit to Tower Records (remember??), I picked up the albums that were out at that time. I was not disappointed - in fact, I loved and still love them. I had hoped they’d continue recording, but what we got are true gems. (Kelly's solo album is quite alluring as well.) I just started watching the Norwood Club video (Kelly: “I will never read Trollope, period.” Hilarious!) Very pleased I found this performance.
